Labioplasty or Labiaplasty
Labioplasty or labiaplasty is a procedure which has gained popularity, mainly because of its availability and because more people are aware of it. This has been the result of media and television show coverage. Some women feel uncomfortable during sexual intercourse, some feel self-conscious during exercise, in a swimsuit, or weight-lifting, and some have pain with certain activities like riding a bicycle or horseback riding. Others want simply to improve the appearance of their genitalia, particularly if they shave the mons
area.
I offer two techniques for labia reduction and the choice is based on the findings on examination and the goals to be achieved.
Both techniques have been selected because:
1. They provide inconspicuous scars.
2. They minimize the area of insensitivity of the labia.
3. They minimize the chance of scar hypersensitivity
and painful intercourse.
4. They heal rapidly.
Along with the appropriate choice of technique, careful and delicate suturing provide very satisfying results. The procedure can be done in the surgery center, the hospital, or in the office operating room. Depending on patient preference, local anesthesia or anesthesia with sedation is used. It takes 45 minutes to perform. A very small amount of pain is involved. We do our utmost to provide you with a comfortable experience, free from any embarrassment. The post-op care is very minimal and easy for anyone to perform.
